Did you know that I offer wrapped newborn mini sessions? I do! They are held on weekdays only, focus on your sweet baby, swaddled up and sleepy. Pop over to my rates page for more detail.
I love newborn sessions and this little boy was just after my own heart. So easy to photograph as he slept nearly the entire time, which meant we were able to pull of a bucket pose, which isn’t often accomplished during a wrapped newborn mini session.
The grays and neutrals, requested by his parents, worked so well and made their baby boy stand out even more.
If you are looking for a newborn photographer in the Northern Virginia area, I would love to work with you. Posed newborn photos are taken at my in-home studio in Sterling, VA when your baby is between 6-14 days old. It is important to book your newborn session no later than the beginning of your third trimester.
Jameson came to visit for his first birthday photos and had so much fun! I met Jameson as a newborn, and as always, it was so fun to see his little personality now that he is growing up!
Jameson’s mom said his birthday would be wilderness themed, so I pulled together a simply styled setup that would incorporate his theme, but also keep the focus on Jameson and his sweet little personality. We also incorporated an outfit from home, and then, of course–cake!
If you can’t tell. Jameson had SO much fun with his cake. I have yet to meet a baby who could fling cake so well! When he left, it was on the side of my cheek and lens. He dumped his cake off of the cake stand–TWICE–because it is far better suited as a drum. He also grabbed his balloons and had a blast bouncing them off of his head and laughing so hard.
The clean up after his session made it evident that he thoroughly enjoyed himself! See for yourself!
These photos were so much fun for the whole family. First family baby, their dog, included! I have a new favorite spot that this family explored with me. This family was a dream to work with. The amazing sunlight through the trees and wildflowers during their last days in bloom only sweetened the pot!
When mom and dad reached out to me, they wanted to document their time as a new family of 3 so we talked about and booked outdoor fall photos. This little lady will be coming back to see me for her first birthday in December too and I can’t wait for their studio session!
We also took a couple of photos of just baby to document her milestones. She’s a solid sitter and just learning to stand assisted. Look how cute she is with those bright blue eyes of hers!
I have had the pleasure of photographing this little lady and her family since her mama was pregnant with her. Take a look at her baby plan recap and don’t miss the most recent photos from her first birthday session too.
Her big brothers spent some time of their family maternity session exploring the woods and searching for frogs.
The whole family also visited the studio for Newborn + Family photos after Gwen was born. Mama asked me to stack her siblings, so we did!
Little Ms. Cupcake also came to see me for her 6 month sitter milestone as well as holiday photos.
One baby sometimes isn’t enough and her relatives were in town for the Thanksgiving holiday so they came along for an extended family session too!
Gwen was crawling at 9 months, and standing assisted, mama was sure to document those milestones!
The real reason you’re here though is because Gwen turned ONE! She came in for her 12 month photos and has grown from standing assisted to assisted walking. This little lady wanted to push mini chairs and stools all over the studio for her session! Her mama is a baker and brought along a smash cake as well as an adorable cupcake banner made by Creigh-ations. She knew what to do with her cake too and was happy to have it all to herself!

I can only guess how his parents feel, but it really feels like I just finished editing Briggs’ newborn photos about a week ago. Alas, I had to do some digging just to find that blog link, so I suppose the time really has passed. Briggs was a little stingy on the smiles at first but was more than happy to show us his adorable grin by the end of our session.
The weather changed our plans for outdoor photos. It was cold, windy and eventually rained too so we moved things indoors. We did jump outside for a quick few family photos. We got some super cute family photos outside, and no one blew away either! You will have to wait for the Christmas card for some of these, but here are a few sneaks of Mr. Adorable and his amazing parents.

I was invited to the local Live, Love, Latch fundraiser benefitting La Leche League of Northern, VA again this year. It was such a beautiful day full of happy kids and happy parents. I don’t think photographing 8 families could have run any smoother than it did!
I was only a very small portion of the fundraising efforts that day but was thrilled to play a part.
I hope you enjoy these sneak peek photos!
One of my larger challenges in life as a mom has been getting IN photos with my children. Taking photos is my job. Literally my job. So it takes effort to remember a selfie, asking my husband to take a photo of me with him and the kids when we are out together, or sometimes, family photos. When I take family photos, they are literally the LAST to be edited, after client photos.
Natalie, the mama here is a photo mama too. I’m so honored to take these photos of her family. I love her work and for her to also appreciate mine makes my heart sing. We had a great time during their session. Cute little Nadiem was full of the BIGGEST smiles, and sometimes the baby “what is that thing?” stare into the camera. This was also the first time I met their little guy since photographing him in utero a year ago. My how fast time goes.
Natalie also comes with a pretty amazing reflector holder hubby. It’s not every day you find TWO folks with an eye for light, so Walid, thanks for the assist!
I hope you enjoy these photos!
