There are days when the newborn baby is a DREAM. And during this baby-only mini session, baby girl slept the entire time, I didn’t see her eyes once!
Little Josie is so adorable with her flower crown on. And her tiny newborn feet are just scrumptious. Those toes will never be this little again!
The props from the session has such wonderful sentimental meaning too. The booties worn along with the blanket she’s laying on were knit by her great grandma 10 years ago. Great grandma has since passed, but how sweet to have these beautiful pieces during the session. The bunny was also from the past, first held by dad when he was little.

Did you know that I offer wrapped newborn mini sessions? I do! They are held on weekdays only, focus on your sweet baby, swaddled up and sleepy. Pop over to my rates page for more detail.
I love newborn sessions and this little boy was just after my own heart. So easy to photograph as he slept nearly the entire time, which meant we were able to pull of a bucket pose, which isn’t often accomplished during a wrapped newborn mini session.
The grays and neutrals, requested by his parents, worked so well and made their baby boy stand out even more.

This was such a fun day this past summer. I donated my time to the La Leche League for their community “Live, Love, Latch” picnic. Families signed up for breast feeding mini sessions with all money raised benefitting their local chapter. I met several families with incredibly adorable little ones. Here are a few photos from the mini sessions.
This little guy holds the record for most smiley baby I’ve ever met. He smiled at EVERYTHING! Even when he cried. His momma told me that he was a happy, smiley baby. I did my due diligence and tried to prepare her for the fact that some smiley babies are so fascinated with the black box on my face that they just stare. I didn’t need to! He smiled on camera and off.
It was a joy meeting this family. I adore families that push me to brave the cold with them because honestly, I’m not ready to give up outdoor sessions yet this season!!

Check out this good looking family. These guys are family friends and so much fun. Big sis is my little guy’s honorary big sister and her little bro is my son’s pal. I loved hanging out with these four!
Enjoy their sneak peeks!

I got to see sweet little Finlay again! Do you remember this little lady? I met her when she was in her mommy’s tummy and again as a newborn. I remembered that Finlay gave me a run for my money during her newborn session so I arrived hoping that was just her initiation. It TOTALLY was. Finlay was a breeze and so happy! She didn’t want to smile at the funny black box in front of my face which makes total sense but her daddy…he is the funniest…like ever.
Get this. Finlay is 6 months old and also *fell asleep* during her session–I’m that boring folks. Before mom could say “oh no!” I got all giddy and asked mom if she had an ottoman or something. I scoured the house, found one and totally rigged a posing setup and posed this little girl. This NEVER happens during a 6 month session but I think this was Finlay’s way of saying “I’m sorry I didn’t want you to pose me when I was a few days old!” I simply adore this photo and am thrilled with all of the comparison photos we took during this session.
Big brother even jumped in for photos and I just love the way these two interact. We spent a bit of time trying to get the babes to smile for the camera together and when we sort of resigned to serious faces they both looked at one another with the best sibling connection and THAT became my favorite sibling photo I’ve ever taken.
Please, take a look at these sneak peeks. You will see what I’m writing about.
This is the little man whose birth I had the privilege of photographing. I’m a Capricorn, so I can say this. We have the tendency to be a little on the stubborn side. When I arrived, little Mister wanted to be awake. I can’t blame him. I’m pretty cool. It took a bit for him to tucker out but when he did, little man was perfectly posable! The stubbornness in me means I can wait a while to get what I want (some people call that patience). We took so many photos!
Photos with family and brothers while he was awake, photos of him nursing, mom wearing him, and finally, much anticipated, sleepy baby photos.
