There are days when the newborn baby is a DREAM. And during this baby-only mini session, baby girl slept the entire time, I didn’t see her eyes once!
Little Josie is so adorable with her flower crown on. And her tiny newborn feet are just scrumptious. Those toes will never be this little again!
The props from the session has such wonderful sentimental meaning too. The booties worn along with the blanket she’s laying on were knit by her great grandma 10 years ago. Great grandma has since passed, but how sweet to have these beautiful pieces during the session. The bunny was also from the past, first held by dad when he was little.

Did you know that I offer wrapped newborn mini sessions? I do! They are held on weekdays only, focus on your sweet baby, swaddled up and sleepy. Pop over to my rates page for more detail.
I love newborn sessions and this little boy was just after my own heart. So easy to photograph as he slept nearly the entire time, which meant we were able to pull of a bucket pose, which isn’t often accomplished during a wrapped newborn mini session.
The grays and neutrals, requested by his parents, worked so well and made their baby boy stand out even more.

I think I am like most people when I say that I just love baby cheeks. What isn’t to love about them? Babies are so adorably squishy. Cheeks, like most of babyhood are so temporary and so fleeting. Something to enjoy while it is here.
Gwen has amazing cheeks. She also looks like the girl version of her big brother. The instant she came through the door it was obvious that we had a twin on our hands. Somehow I hadn’t noticed at her newborn session!
Gwen came to visit and celebrate turning 6 months and to take a few holiday photos. Her nursery is cupcake themed so mom brought along an adorable cupcake hat for updated photos as well. She looks festive, doesn’t she?
I mentioned in this baby girl’s maternity blog that I couldn’t wait to learn her name, and it is just as sweet as I hoped. First, IT’S A GIRL! This family decided to learn baby’s gender at birth. I just love her sweet name, Magnolia. As soon as mom shared, I headed to the craft store. Because when your name is Magnolia, I put you in Magnolias.
Magnolia is pretty lucky to have a second mama in her proud big sister. Brother who is pretty stoic in front of my camera historically, was pretty happy to share his baby sister too. Then we have mom and dad who are the most adorable couple ever. It is such an honor when families book me once, but to see you guys 3 times in less than a year makes me feel so special.
Enjoy some of the photos from this session.

I met sweet, smiley Sumaya when she was 5 weeks old for a newborn session in her home. I typically suggest newborn photos between 6-14 days old. This little lady was born prematurely, so at 5 weeks, she was close to her gestational age and still very bendy and sleepy. As a preemie mama myself, I have a soft spot for babies born early. When I picked her up, I knew exactly what she weighed. It took me back to the first time I held my own little man. He was 5 lbs 3 ounces and I will never forget what he felt like in my hands.
Sumaya is just perfect. I enjoyed meeting her and her parents!
I absolutely love taking milestone photos. The only downside is that the first year goes by SO fast. I can’t believe it was just about a year ago that I met this wonderful family and a baby Riley for their newborn photos. This summer, I visited for 6 month updates, and now little man is turning 1 in a few short weeks! Check out a few sneaks from their session!

This little lady was a rockstar. She came to me a few days before the holidays which meant we got to have a winter wonderland of fun. Family photos, wintry Christmas, New Year, daddy’s favorite football team and some traditional photos. She was a dream and rocked her entire session.
