I was invited to the local Live, Love, Latch fundraiser benefitting La Leche League of Northern, VA again this year. It was such a beautiful day full of happy kids and happy parents. I don’t think photographing 8 families could have run any smoother than it did!
I was only a very small portion of the fundraising efforts that day but was thrilled to play a part.
I hope you enjoy these sneak peek photos!
One of my larger challenges in life as a mom has been getting IN photos with my children. Taking photos is my job. Literally my job. So it takes effort to remember a selfie, asking my husband to take a photo of me with him and the kids when we are out together, or sometimes, family photos. When I take family photos, they are literally the LAST to be edited, after client photos.
Natalie, the mama here is a photo mama too. I’m so honored to take these photos of her family. I love her work and for her to also appreciate mine makes my heart sing. We had a great time during their session. Cute little Nadiem was full of the BIGGEST smiles, and sometimes the baby “what is that thing?” stare into the camera. This was also the first time I met their little guy since photographing him in utero a year ago. My how fast time goes.
Natalie also comes with a pretty amazing reflector holder hubby. It’s not every day you find TWO folks with an eye for light, so Walid, thanks for the assist!
I hope you enjoy these photos!
Noah brought his whole family along to his newborn session. Mom, dad, his two older siblings and his grandparents. It was so great to meet everyone.
Big brother and sister were just so proud to hug and hold Noah for photos. I heard mama say “All three of you in one picture!” Hearing those words just made my heart swell! I love the ability to photograph such a special, new time for families.
It had been raining for weeks before Noah’s photo session. Mom really wanted to take a couple photos outside, as did I! Somehow the skies parted for just a few hours during Noah’s session and we indeed made it outside. I had a few azaleas still in bloom at my in-home studio and they suited mom’s request for neutral colors just perfectly.
Enjoy the photos from Noah’s newborn photos.
If you are looking for a maternity, newborn photographer, I would love to work with you. It is best to contact me while you are at the beginning of your 3rd trimester or sooner to schedule your pictures. I am currently booking newborn photos for August – December 2016.
We had very different plans for these photos, but it snowed the day before this family photo session. Mid-April–we thought we were out of the woods on the whole winter storm advisory thing.
I knew that mama really wanted to be able to put her girls in spring dresses and not worry about chilly weather, so we rescheduled for the following week and we made it work. I had been stalking these late blooming cherries for an entire month and was so frustrated that they hadn’t bloomed yet. It worked out perfectly because while the frost got a couple of the buds near the top of the tree, the rest popped just days before their session.
Baby sister is turning 1 so it was important to incorporate her birthday in this photo session as well. We opted to skip the cake smash bit. Juliana decided a prop smash was in order instead.
Enjoy these photos!
It was an absolute pleasure to meet this sweet family. The McGinn Family won a mini-session with me over the winter holidays. This session was the most perfect welcome back. I worried about rain the morning of their session due to weather predictions but the light showers blew right over us and we had the most perfect weather!
The McGinns recently welcomed a new family member as well and I am thrilled to have documented them all as a family of 4. Before I share these photos with you, may I also point out the most perfectly coordinated outfits?
If you follow me on facebook, you know that our family has a precious new member. Meet Ruby, our sweet little gem. Our entire family is smitten with this little lady. I have shared these photos on my facebook page bit by bit but want to put them here since after all, not everyone is on facebook. Hard as it is for me to believe that! It is also nice to have them all in one place.
As I share these photos with you, I am now officially back from maternity leave! Though I am back, I am booking sessions on a very part time basis. It is challenging to limit myself since with that comes booking up faster. I’m mom first though and this is the most effective way to keep myself from running on empty. If you are considering a session soon, please email me sooner than later to ensure I have availability for you! If you are planning for a new baby, birthday, or just some updated family photos on the wall in the near future, now is the time to email me (firstname.lastname@example.org)!
Did I really not write a blog post for little Catie Jo? I don’t know how it didn’t happen but so much has happened since her session.
Catie Jo’s momma and I met when she joined the family team mentor committee for the March of Dimes which I am also a part of. I had heard their family’s story the year before and was incredibly touched by all that they had endured in such a short time. Catie’s momma and I were due about a month apart, so agreeing to take Catie’s photos was a *bit* of a risk…but I just had to take these photos. I will forever cherish being a part of Catie Jo’s start and hope that her momma and daddy love these photos forever. I hope you enjoy these photos and the tribute to Catie’s two big sisters.
If you are looking for a maternity, newborn or baby photographer, I would love to work with you. It is best to contact me while you are pregnant for your newborn photos. It is SO important to book ahead! Facebook is also a great way to keep up with all things happening at Jamie Romaezi Photography. I am now booking newborns due August 2015 or later.
