Live, Love, Latch, Northern VA | Family Portrait Photographer

I was invited to the local Live, Love, Latch fundraiser benefitting La Leche League of Northern, VA again this year.  It was such a beautiful day full of happy kids and happy parents.  I don’t think photographing 8 families could have run any smoother than it did!

I was only a very small portion of the fundraising efforts that day but was thrilled to play a part.

I hope you enjoy these sneak peek photos!

Tennier & Walker Fall Family Photos

At 5 adults and 2 kids, this session had a lot of people!  It was a jam packed hour with lots of fun, giggles, and leaves.  The little lady you see is always full of smiles.  The tiny gent…he is a really shy guy.  My very favorite part of the session is just how much little mister came out of his shell.  If I hadn’t met him before, I would never know how very reserved Ryan can be.

If you follow this blog, you have “met” this family before.  I shared Gabby’s story last year right after she experienced a very serious traumatic brain injury (TBI).  So really and truly, my favorite favorite favorite part of this session was seeing with my own eyes just how healthy Gabby is now.

Enjoy these memories:

[Kyran] 2 Months New | Northern Virginia Baby Photographer

It was truly amazing to meet this special guy and his sweet family.  Kyran has something in common with my very own little guy–he is a NICU graduate.  It’s so unfair to watch tiny babies struggle at their start but such a joy to celebrate what they have overcome.  Little man, like most 2 month olds, was happy, awake and looking for the camera!  He fell asleep but it was very typical 2 month old cat nap.  I love the way these photos turned out!  Take a look!

If you are looking for a maternity, newborn or baby photographer, I would love to work with you.  It is best to contact me while you are pregnant for your newborn photos.  It is SO important to book ahead!   Facebook is also a great way to keep up with all things happening at Jamie Romaezi Photography.

[Finlay] 6 Months | Northern Virginia Baby Photographer

I got to see sweet little Finlay again!  Do you remember this little lady?  I met her when she was in her mommy’s tummy and again as a newborn.  I remembered that Finlay gave me a run for my money during her newborn session so I arrived hoping that was just her initiation.  It TOTALLY was.  Finlay was a breeze and so happy!  She didn’t want to smile at the funny black box in front of my face which makes total sense but her daddy…he is the funniest…like ever.

Get this.  Finlay is 6 months old and also *fell asleep* during her session–I’m that boring folks.  Before mom could say “oh no!” I got all giddy and asked mom if she had an ottoman or something.  I scoured the house, found one and totally rigged a posing setup and posed this little girl.  This NEVER happens during a 6 month session but I think this was Finlay’s way of saying “I’m sorry I didn’t want you to pose me when I was a few days old!”  I simply adore this photo and am thrilled with all of the comparison photos we took during this session.

Big brother even jumped in for photos and I just love the way these two interact.  We spent a bit of time trying to get the babes to smile for the camera together and when we sort of resigned to serious faces they both looked at one another with the best sibling connection and THAT became my favorite sibling photo I’ve ever taken.

Please, take a look at these sneak peeks.  You will see what I’m writing about.

[Peter] 2 Years Old | Northern Virginia Child Photographer

Sweet Peter is 2 years old!  His family was among one of the first I photographed when I set out on this venture last year.  I loved seeing them all again and seeing what an adventurous little guy he has become!  I met with Peter and his family in Washington, DC and totally lucked out that it was the peak Cherry Blossom weekend!  If you live in this area, you know what a gamble it is to catch the cherry trees at just the right time.  Especially with a winter as crazy as the one we had (lasting well into spring this year)!

Peter was far more into cars, trucks and city transportation than looking at my camera.  That is totally ok!  The beauty of photographing children outdoors is capturing them as they love to be.  We did manage some smiles for family photos by playing “frisbee” with my white balance card.

I hope you enjoy Peter’s photos!  Take a look at this little dude last year too!  https://jamieromaezi.wordpress.com/2013/05/13/dziekan-family-mini-session-photos/

Nicolay Family Photos

I just loved working with this family of 4.  Extra bonus that I had real reason to take my shoes off and put my feet in the sand…at work!   It did take a little bit for tiny miss to warm up to me and for me to figure out how to get big brother to smile but after a few minutes, it was just magic!

Perhaps the hardest part of this session was narrowing down the final photos!  I love it when that happens.
