Cherry blossoms are always a beautiful backdrop for photos and this spring did not disappoint. The Washington, D.C. area is known for the Cherry Blossoms and I’m lucky enough to have so many Cherry Blossom trees locally in Sterling, VA. Late April and early May is such a great time of the year in our area, with great weather and blossoming trees.
The Donohue family, with two sisters had such a great time playing together on the beautiful spring day. In their pink and purple dresses, the sisters played “Ring Around the Rosie” and Charlotte, the 2 year old, gave me a run for my money, so sweet and full of energy!

Happy birthday to this sweet girl! I adore her gorgeous hair, blue eyes and those most perfect baby legs! Charlotte had a few happy moments, sitting in my cute new box (the things I do to babies!) She also showed us the progress she is making toward walking, and was quite perplexed by that pesky number 1 that I kept putting in front of her.
Some new studio news: I will be available for indoor milestone sessions on Monday and Tuesdays beginning in September! If you are planning a milestone session for the fall–now is the best time to book to ensure your pick of dates.

Discounted baby plans are also available. It is important to book your milestone session 4-6 weeks in advance. Please contact me for specific availability.
I met this cool guy and his parents for photos at the end of last week, just before his first birthday. He has a big construction themed party coming up but mom wanted to capture him as he is. Simon is a pretty laid back little guy and has an awesome excited squeal. Oh–and he likes hats! Who doesn’t love a little boy in a cute hat?!
As my clients know, I work out of my home and moved recently. Hence the radio silence from me–I was only taking on limited sessions for the move. Now that I am back, I also have the ability to work from my new yard and new neighborhood. During this session we visited my treed in back yard, a walking path and a nearby field for photos. I love the versatility of my new neighborhood and all of the scenery I am easily able to offer clients. Of course, if you have a request for your favorite park, we can still visit that together for photos too! (Fun fact: Parks do require permits for photo sessions–I do that legwork for you though they sometimes do charge you a fee.)
Back to Simon. We got SO many great photos that I had a hard time picking my favorites. Here are a few that I hope you enjoy!
