The leaves typically turn before they fall in Northern VA.  This year was so dry and warm that it happened in reverse order.  You know what?  I’m good with that!  I love having more leaves on the ground and the ability to have a little leaf throwing fun at sessions.
We made some great memories while these photos were being taken. My favorite by far was when we were about 15 minutes or so into the session.  It was little man’s turn for solo photos.  He sat on the bench and stared at me and sort of spaced out a bit.  …then he started chewing.
“Henry?  What are you eating?
He grinned.
“Did you save some gummy bears from earlier in your cheek?!”
Bigger grin as he began chewing.
I have to say that was a complete first for me and still makes me laugh.  Big sister was all about pictures.  All about them. She loved posing, wanted to be my creative director, and also wanted to take them. My very favorite was at the end of the session when the kids ran off with the sticks they collected during their session.  I was able to get some really sweet and carefree photos of the kids simply playing.
I hope you enjoy these photos.
